Georgia Power, PulteGroup to develop smart neighborhood in Atlanta
Georgia Power and PulteGroup, Inc. announced Tuesday they would partner to develop a Smart Neighborhood at Pulte’s Altus at the Quarter development in Atlanta, Georgia.
Each home in the Georgia Power Smart Neighborhood will use individual rooftop solar installations and in-home battery energy storage, along with service by Georgia Power. Homes will also have with other energy technologies including advanced heating and cooling systems, LED lighting and efficient insulation as well as home automation features such as smart thermostats, smart locks and voice control.
“Building the future of energy in Georgia centers on our continued commitment to offer new, flexible products and services that meet the changing needs of our customers,” Paul Bowers, chair, president and CEO of Georgia Power, said. “This partnership with PulteGroup provides a unique opportunity for us to demonstrate how energy companies can collaborate with homebuilders and retail partners to better serve customers today while developing new opportunities for tomorrow.”
Georgia Power will analyze performance data and energy usage from the Smart Neighborhood homes to gain insight into the effectiveness of the technologies and materials used.

Construction is underway and the grand opening is scheduled for later this year.
