EEI Board approves 3 staff promotions in areas of security, communications, customer solutions

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), which represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies, has promoted three current employees into roles that will focus on business security, communications and customer solutions.

The promotions, approved by EEI’s Board of Directions during its winter meeting, include Scott Aaronson, Stephanie Voyda and Lisa Wood.

“Each manages critical portfolios for EEI and is a major contributor to our overall success,” EEI President Tom Kuhn said. “Our industry is in the midst of a profound transformation, and they will continue to play an important role in advancing EEI’s strategic and policy goals. I look forward to their continued leadership and service on behalf of EEI’s member companies and the customers they serve.”

Aarsonson has been promoted to vice president of security and preparedness, building on his work as executive director of security and business continuity. He has been with the institute since 2009, and managed its cyber and physical security teams, as well as its storm response and recovery and associated regulatory policy groups. He also doubles as secretary of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council, under which he unites industry and government executives on matters of infrastructure protection.

Voyda has been appointed to vice president of communications. She has been with EEI since 1997 and been a constant in the communications department, most recently in the role of executive director of communications. She runs EEI’s advertising, public policy communications, executive communications, creative strategy and design, research, social media and other strategic communications, as well as Electric Perspectives magazine and EEI’s website.

Finally, Wood has gotten an added role as vice president of EEI’s customer solutions, but will also be continuing on as executive director of the Institute for Electric Innovation and vice president of the Edison Foundation. Her new role is focused on transportation electrification, smart cities initiatives, individualized customer solutions and partnerships with everything from corporate to military customers.
