National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) President John Betkoski III recently appointed Commissioner John Rosales of the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) to the NARUC Board of Directors.

“We are very pleased to welcome Commissioner Rosales to the Board of Directors. He is a well-rounded regulator who has consistently provided valuable contributions to our committees and members,” NARUC President John Betkoski III said. “He will be an exceptional addition to our Board.”

Gov. Bruce Rauner appointed Rosales to a four-year term on the ICC on March 16, 2015. Rosales vice-chair of NARUC’s electricity committee and previously served as a member of the Task Force on Transportation. He also serves as president of the board of directors for the Organization of PJM States, Inc. and is vice-chair of the Independent State Agencies Committee.

“It is an honor to be appointed to serve as a member of the NARUC Board of Directors,” Rosales said. “The mission of NARUC is to improve the quality and effectiveness of public utility regulation. It succeeds by bringing regulators from across the country together to discuss and exchange information about topics important to the ever-changing world of public utility regulation. A special thanks to President Jack Betkoski for his leadership on the NARUC Board, and for giving me the opportunity to serve my colleagues”

Rosales’ term expires in October 2020, but the NARUC Executive Committee may reappoint him at that time.
