Con Edison is continuing restoration following Winter Storm Riley in New York while preparing for a second storm forecast for today.

Crews had restored power to approximately 111,200 customers impacted by the storm, as of yesterday. Crews are working to restore power to the remaining 28,000 affected customers.

In Westchester, which was hit the hardest by Riley, 75,000 customers now have power back. The company anticipated completing restoration to the vast majority of Westchester customers affected by Riley by 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The majority of storm-related outages in New York City have been restored. 924 were still out due as of yesterday morning.

In preparation for the second round of snow, Con Edison is keeping many mutual aid workers on the job in Westchester County and has contacted out-of-state energy companies for additional crews.

Con Edison currently has approximately 1,800 people working on power restoration, line repair, site safety and planning, including 400 mutual aid workers from as far away as Canada, Texas, and Wisconsin.
