Florida Power and Light completes largest solar-plus-storage project in United States

Florida Power and Light (FPL) recently incorporated a 10-megawatt (MW), 40-megawatt-hour (MWh) battery-storage project into its Babcock Ranch Solar Energy Center, a 74.5 MW solar power plant in Charlotte County, Florida.

The project is the largest solar-plus-storage system built in the United States to date.

Under the rate agreement approved by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) in 2016, FPL plans to develop 50 MW of battery storage over the next few years.
