The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Board of Trustees recently announced the appointment of James (Jim) B. Robb as NERC’s president and CEO, effective April 9.
“The Board is very pleased to have found someone of Jim’s caliber to lead NERC into the future. Choosing a CEO is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities. The Board took this duty very seriously by engaging in a comprehensive, nationwide search culminating in the unanimous selection of Jim Robb,” Board Chair Roy Thilly said. “We are confident that Jim will provide the combination of strong leadership, vision and commitment to the reliability and security of the bulk power system across North America that is essential to NERC’s continuing success.”
Robb currently serves as CEO of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council, a NERC Regional Entity, and has held the position since 2014.
“EEI looks forward to working with Jim in his new role as president and chief executive officer of NERC,” Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn said. “He has a deep understanding of the reliability of the North American bulk power system and brings extensive experience interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders, including the electric power industry.”
