State efforts in New Jersey were recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy this week, with a 2018 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award granted for their Clean Energy Program.

It was especially the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ (NJBPU) Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program which earned them the top honor. That program offers loans of up to $15,000 and 4.99 percent financing over 10 years and 0 percent financing on 7-year loans of up to $10,000. It also incentivizes efforts to make homes safer and more comfortable with up to $4,000.

“New Jersey is a national leader in energy efficiency,” NJBPU President Joseph Fioraliso said. “I am so pleased that this BPU program continues to be nationally recognized for its contributions to making New Jersey cleaner and greener.”

This is the ninth time NJBPU has won such an ENERGY STAR award in the past decade.
