Dominion East Ohio has launched a campaign to help encourage residents to cut down on power use this summer, offering discounts on home energy assessments for eligible customers.

Through August 31, eligible Dominion customers can request a visit from an energy auditor who will identify and discuss key areas of energy loss in the home for $25, which is 50 percent off the regular energy assessment price. Following the completion of the assessment, customers will receive a personalized energy report containing data provided by the auditor, as well as customized recommendations for efficiency improvements.

“Since 2010, this program has helped over 15,000 homeowners find small steps to save energy, and identify larger projects that could save them considerable money,” Jeff Murphy, Dominion East Ohio vice president and general manager, said. “We’re excited to offer a special summer deal on the cost of a home energy assessment.”

Customers who follow up on suggested home improvements will be eligible for rebates of up to $1,250 for making upgrades to their homes, including window and door replacements, HVAC equipment upgrades, and new air sealing and insulation – investments that will cut down future power bills. Additional bonuses in the package may include programmable thermostats or water-saving faucets, offered at no cost to qualifying participants.
