FERC approves Rover Pipeline Burgettstown, Majorsville Laterals to enter service

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) recently gave Rover Pipeline, LLC approval to bring its Burgettstown and Majorsville supply laterals, along with the associated compressor and metering stations, into service.

The approval allows for 100 percent of the long-haul contractual commitments on Rover to begin Sept. 1.

Rover, a 713-mile natural gas pipeline, will transport natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica production areas to markets across the United States and to the Union Gas Dawn Storage Hub in Ontario, Canada.

When fully operational, Rover will transport gas from processing plants in West Virginia, Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania for delivery to pipeline interconnections in West Virginia and Eastern Ohio. It will also transport gas to the Midwest Hub near Defiance, Ohio, where as much as 68 percent of the gas will be delivered for distribution to markets across the United States.

FERC approved Rover for the full 3.25 Bcf per day on June 1. Rover began service on the project on Aug. 31, 2017. Rover expects restoration activities along the full line to be completed by the end of the year.
