Non-profit delegation reviews National Energy Technology Lab work
The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) welcomed last week a delegation from the ClearPath Foundation to learn about its latest work on a variety of clean energy initiatives.
The ClearPath Foundation delegation included Government Affairs Director Jeff Morehouse, Government Affairs Associate Sha Smith, Policy Associates Spencer Nelson and Justin Ong, and Policy Analyst Faith Smith. The tour explored the lab’s work on advanced carbon capture and storage, solid oxide fuel cells, systems engineering analysis, chemical looping, simulations, risk assessment technologies and hybrid performance, among others. It was an extensive overview, meant to give a prominent clean energy-focused non-profit insight into governmental innovation.
ClearPath Foundation has helped fund the National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC) in Wilsonville, Ala., to speed up commercialization of greenhouse gas reducing emissions technologies for natural gas and coal operations. NETL, in turn, has worked frequently with the NCCC over the years, using it to install potential carbon capture technologies and evaluate them for commercial use in the future.
