NARUC appoints new board member
Daniel Yves Hall was appointed to the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) board of directors this week.
Hall is the commissioner of the Missouri Public Service Commission, a post he has held since January 2014.
Hall also served as legislative director to former Gov. Jay Nixon and senior counsel and assistant attorney general to Nixon when he was attorney general. Hall has also served as assistant commissioner for policy in the Office of Administration and senior policy advisor to former Gov. Bob Holden. Additionally, Hall worked as chief of staff to Missouri House Speaker Steve Gaw and law clerk to United States District Court Judge Dean Whipple. Also, Hall was an associate with the law firm Bryan Cave, LLP.
Hall holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
Hall has also served as vice chair on NARUC’s Committee on Water and the Subcommittee on Education and Research.
“Commissioner Hall will be an asset to the NARUC board of directors,” NARUC Board President Nick Wagner said. “His years of solid government leadership, combined with his engagement on NARUC Committees, will provide the insight and contributions that we are looking for.”
The NARUC board consists of the president, the first vice president, the second vice president, the treasurer, each past president who is an active member, and 20 other active members representing state commissions. Hall’s term expires Oct. 31, 2022, but NARUC’s Executive Committee may reappoint him.
“I am grateful to President Wagner for the opportunity to serve on NARUC’s board of directors,” Hall said. “It is a talented and diverse team of commissioners focused on improving the quality and effectiveness of public utility regulation, and I look forward to lending my voice to this cause.”
