American Transmission Company (ATC) recently published its annual report, which highlights the company’s key achievements in 2018.

“The 2018 report highlights our accomplishments in power delivery, environmental stewardship, community involvement, and financial performance,” the company said in a press release.

According to the report, ATC completed more than 180 capital projects and placed into service the 180-mile, 345,000-volt Badger Coulee line. The company also completed the 45-mile, North Appleton-Morgan Project with the lowest construction cost per mile for a 345-kV line in its history.

The report also discussed ATC’s work with Alaska utilities to create a Transco and its use of new technology, including a pipe-bursting underground transmission line replacement method and a project proposal for storage as a transmission asset. The report said that the company ranked among the best in the industry for the low number of bulk power and forced outages.

ATC operates more than 9,890 miles of high-voltage transmission lines and 568 substations.
