PowerSecure, Inc., a subsidiary of Southern Company, recently announced that is signed an agreement to provide microgrid solutions to Compass Energy Platform, LLC (Compass) on jointly developed projects.
Compass, a new joint venture formed by Navigant and InfraRed Capital Partners, is a local energy project development and finance platform.
PowerSecure will serve as an implementation service provider for Compass and will design, engineer, and execute Compass’ microgrids needs and will operate and maintain the units once they are in service.
“As the nation’s leading provider of microgrids, PowerSecure is excited to help assist cities and energy companies build more sustainable and resilient energy solutions,” Eric Dupont, chief commercial officer for PowerSecure, said. “Moreover, combining the expertise of so many in the energy infrastructure space will make the development, execution, and financing of local energy solutions that much easier.”
PowerSecure, which Southern Company purchased in 2016, is the largest commercial microgrid developer in the United States.
