Black Hills Energy of Wyoming began work today on a new, 4.5-mile natural gas pipeline which will support the city of Laramie and the University of Wyoming.

The line will run from the city’s West Lyon Street to East Harney Street, and construction will impact residents through the area. TRC Construction, Inc. will handle the project itself, though their contractors will be marked as belonging to Black Hills Energy.

“The City of Laramie and the University of Wyoming are experiencing a great deal of growth, and this project provides reliability for our expanding community,” Rachael Sisneros, Supervisor of Gas Operations in Laramie, said. “The investment is necessary for Black Hills Energy to continue to provide our customers with safe and reliable natural gas service.”

Natural gas service will not be interrupted during construction, and the new feature is expected to reach completion in early fall. In the meantime, metal ramps will be provided to those businesses and residents affected by the construction to ensure driveway access.
