PPL Corporation announced Monday the promotion of Vincent Sorgi to the role of president and chief operating officer.
Sorgi has served as PPL’s chief financial officer since June 2014. Effective July 1, Sorgi will oversee the operational performance of PPL’s seven utilities in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Sorgi has been with PPL since 2006 when he joined the company as a financial director. Sorgi has also served as vice president and controller for PPL.
Before coming to PPL, Sorgi worked for Public Service Enterprise Group and Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Villanova University.
He will report to PPL CEO and Chairman William Spence.
“Vince’s strong leadership skills, passion for continuous improvement and commitment to outstanding execution make him well-suited to lead our operations as we strive to deliver best-in-sector operational performance for our customers, to invest responsibly in a sustainable energy future, to provide strong returns to investors, and to grow PPL moving forward,” Spence said.
PPL also named Joseph Bergstein Jr. as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer. Bergstein has worked as vice president-investor relations and corporate development and planning at PPL since 2018. Before that he worked as treasurer.
“I look forward to working with Joe in his new role as chief financial officer. Joe’s two decades of financial experience at PPL and success in a variety of leadership positions have prepared him well for this expanded role on PPL’s senior leadership team,” Spence said.
