Pacific Power has been awarded the 2016 Green Power Leadership Award in recognition of its commitment to advancing U.S. renewable energy and in particular its novel approach to developing renewables in Oregon.

The Green Power Leadership Awards are conferred nationwide by the Center for Resource Solutions and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The awards were created to recognize individuals and organizations who make significant contributions to the development of the green power market.

“We are pleased to award Pacific Power with a 2016 Green Power Leadership Award for the company’s innovative Blue Sky Program, which helps drive new development of clean energy generation and can serve as a model for new projects throughout the country,” CRS Executive Director Jennifer Martin said.

Pacific Power’s methods included leveraging the nationally recognized Green-e Energy certified Blue Sky Usage and Habitat products in the development of the Huntington Wind project in eastern Oregon and Blue Basin Power near Klamath Falls.

Cory Scott, Pacific Power’s director of customer solutions, said, “We look forward to growing this program as an important part of an increasingly diverse set of renewable options for customers.”
