Customers of First Energy Corp. can get a rebate off the price of a 2019 Nissan Leaf or Leaf Plus by showing their electric bill and the official program flyer to a participating Nissan dealership.
The purchaser could also qualify for up to $7,500 in federal electric vehicle tax credits and be eligible for additional state and local benefits.
The Leaf retails for about $30,000 while the Leaf S Plus goes for about $36,550.
First Energy serves customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. Customers in Maryland and New Jersey can get a $5,000 rebate off the price of a Leaf and $2,500 for a Leaf Plus. Customers in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania can get a rebate of $3,500 off the price of a Leaf or $2,500 off the price of a Leaf Plus.
The rebates are available through Sept. 30, 2019.
To receive the rebate, customers need to show their monthly utility billing statement and a copy of the promotional flyer for their state. They can find the promotional flyer on First Energy’s website. The list of participating Leaf- dealerships is listed on Nissan’s website. Nissan suggests calling ahead to the to confirm inventory.
