Dianne Martin nominated to chair New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu nominated Dianne Martin to serve as chair of the state’s Public Utilities Commission.

Martin currently works in the New Hampshire Department of Justice (NH DOJ) as associate attorney general and chief of staff to New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald. In that role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the Justice Department. She is also the lead contracts and procurement attorney within the Civil Bureau at the NH DOJ. Previously, Martin served as assistant attorney general within the Transportation and Construction Bureau for five years at NH DOJ.

“I am pleased to nominate Dianne Martin for this incredibly important position,” Sununu said. “Dianne has extensive experience as an attorney within state government and has worked with various agencies throughout her career to advocate for the public good. Her knowledge of state government and administrative law is key to this position, and Dianne will do incredible work leading the Public Utilities Commission.”

She replaces Martin Honigberg, who has been named Superior Court Judge in New Hampshire.

This position offers the opportunity to extend and broaden my work over the last decade in protecting the public as a member of the Attorney General’s Office.”

A confirmation vote will take place at the PUC’s Sept. 18th Executive Council meeting.
