DTE requests proposals from large and small developers of solar, wind projects
DTE Energy announced this week that it is seeking requests for proposals from both large and small energy developers for new solar and wind projects in Michigan.
The expansion’s goal is compliance with Michigan’s Renewable Portfolio Standard and to meet a carbon emissions reduction goal of at least 80 percent by 2040. To that end, any solar projects providing between 25 megawatts and 200 MW, along with wind projects ranging from 100 MW to 200 MW are eligible to apply. However, developers must be able to meet a commercial operation deadline between 2021 and 2023.
Companies must first register with PowerAdvocate before DTE considers them. Registered bidders will then be given full access to the RFP through the website.
To date, DTE is Michigan’s largest producer of renewable energy. It provides 1,200 MW from 14 wind farms and 31 solar parks in the state, but by 2023 it hopes to add as much as 775 MW of additional renewable energy assets to its portfolio.
