Massachusetts utility accepting solar program enrollment

Con Edison Solutions is accepting community solar program enrollments for Massachusetts National Grid residential and small business customers.

Subscribers receive a monthly credit from National Grid on their electricity bill for their share of the solar energy produced by the community solar installation once they are enrolled. Subscribers pay a lesser amount for their solar subscription.

“Con Edison Solutions is committed to bringing renewable energy to Massachusetts and to offering those who may not be able to consider solar, like renters, the opportunity to support the development of solar power,” Lorena Tavlarios, managing director at Con Edison Solutions, said. “This community solar program will provide participants with the satisfaction of positively contributing to the environment in their community while saving money on their electricity.”

Con Edison Solutions operates a 4.3MW solar installation in Northampton, Mass., supporting the community’s environmental goals.

The utility planted trees at the site and donated more than 20 acres of land for preservation in its natural state.

The firm provides renewable energy, resiliency, and sustainability services, officials said, including battery storage, cost-effective energy efficiency solutions, demand management, and energy performance contracting to industrial, commercial, governmental, and residential customers.
