Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille has been elected to the 2020-2021 leadership team for the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (MACRUC).

Dutrieuille will serve as MACRUC Second Vice President for the coming year. She was elected by her peers from the Mid-Atlantic region, which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Willie Phillips, from the District of Columbia Public Service Commission, will serve as president, while Tony O’Donnell, from the Maryland Public Service Commission, will serve as first vice president. Joseph Fiordaliso, from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.

Dutrieuille acknowledged the responsibility to advance key issues and contribute to the public good.

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked,” she said.

MACRUC’s mission is to promote the region-wide advancement of public utility regulation and the regulatory, legislative, and policy interests of MACRUC membership.

Dutrieuille has also been named to the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners new national Task Force on Emergency Preparedness, Recovery and Resiliency. The task force will explore utility issues related to weather emergencies and analyze the national utility response to COVID-19. She also leads the NARUC Committee on Critical Infrastructure, which seeks solutions to utility infrastructure security and delivery concerns.
