AEP Energy Partners request solar, wind energy from PJM facilities

AEP Energy Partners, based in Columbus, Ohio, recently requested proposals for offtake from new solar as well as new or repowered wind facilities located within the PJM Interconnection.

The PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and Washington, D.C.

The company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company, is specifically looking for renewable energy purchase agreements of 10, 12, or 15 years for facilities that begin operation between 2020 and 2023. While proposals with alternative terms will be accepted, all bids will be approved at the discretion of AEP Energy Partners.

Once completed, AEP Energy Partners will use the contracted offtake to support the company’s growing retail and wholesale portfolio in PJM, including the executed long-term retail supply agreement with Google LLC and the Co9lumbus Regional Airport Authority.

Notice of intent to bid must be received by Aug. 13 and complete proposal packages are due no later than noon on Aug. 28
