Business customers of Dominion Energy South Carolina can benefit from the utility’s EnergyWise for Your Business program, recently restructured with up to $100,000 in incentives to aid lighting and other efficiency upgrades.

Eligible businesses can apply for up to $100,000 per project type and customer tax ID annually, and businesses can qualify for multiple energy efficiency projects each year. This is meant to help remove aging, inefficient equipment with more modern systems, and it has proven popular. Last year alone, Dominion Energy doled out more than $2.8 million in such incentives to more than 400 projects.

“Our two cost-effective program options – custom and prescriptive – help program participants find the best solution for their business,” Annika Goodson, Dominion Energy program manager, said. “In most cases, customers should talk to us before beginning projects. That way, we can help them determine the best approach to suit their needs and optimize the project incentives that are available.”

Incentives on the prescriptive side are predetermined but offer help for lighting — both retrofitted and new — HVAC and high-efficiency equipment, such as needed in foodservice. The custom option tends to be more site-specific but can aid energy efficiency projects dealing with energy management systems, compressed air systems, whole building solutions, and more.
