Portland General Electric (PGE) announced three new funding opportunities for local clean energy and electric vehicle projects.

The funding opportunities come through the Renewable Development Fund, Electric School Bus Fund, and Drive Change Fund, made possible through PGE customer clean energy and electric vehicle choices.

“Thanks to PGE customers who choose renewable energy options and who charge their electric vehicles at home, we are excited to offer these clean energy funding opportunities for communities around Oregon,” Dan Janosec, PGE grants manager, said. “Together with customers, communities, and the nonprofits who serve those most in need, we will fund more local renewable energy projects, get more electric vehicles on the road and help reduce emissions throughout our service area. We are committed to working alongside our customers and community partners to build a clean energy future that serves everyone.”

The PGE Renewable Development Fund (RDF) offers competitive grants for community clean energy projects. The RDF has awarded 75 projects and more than $16.5 million. It has created more than 16.6 MW of new renewable generation. Applications for this grant opened on April 1 and will close on June 1.

The PGE Electric School Bus Fund is partnering with local school districts to bring even more electric school buses to Oregon. Using funding from Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program, PGE will pay for the incremental cost of an electric school bus and charging infrastructure. Applications open on April 15 and close on June 1.

PGE uses credits from Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program to fund electric vehicle projects, including EV purchases, chargers, and educational programs through the Drive Change Fund. PGE is committed to reducing emissions by accelerating access to — and adoption of — electric vehicles for everyone. Applications open on April 30 and close on July 2.

Portland General Electric serves approximately 900,000 customers in Oregon.
