With the launch of the Ellipse platform this week, ENGIE says it has created the world’s most comprehensive carbon intelligence platform, capable of helping businesses track emissions in real-time, tailor their decarbonization strategies and chart, optimize and integrate their way to improvement.

Developed by ENGIE Impact, Ellipse is a net-zero carbon platform that offers advanced data analytics for an accurate representation of carbon outputs. Visualization of such data can allow companies to alter their climate goals and more readily advance sustainability efforts without having to sift through vast troves of carbon-related figures or develop proper carbon reporting infrastructure. It also comes with the advantage of being able to be integrated into existing digital systems, requiring minimal hands-on involvement.

“As a global leader in the zero carbon transition, ENGIE developed Ellipse in support of businesses faced with the growing urgency to reduce carbon emissions and implement a strategic action plan,” Catherine MacGregor, ENGIE CEO, said. “A true sustainability transformation requires significant investment, organizational transformation and a reimagining of business strategies, alongside the continuous consolidation of disparate data. Ellipse works as a strategic tool to help organizations make informed decisions and reach their net zero emission goals.”

Specifically, Ellipse as proposed would allow companies greater insights into their own emissions data across scopes 1, 2 and 3, thanks to aggregation and analytical efforts from artificial intelligence and a custom Application Programming Interface. It can chart not just an individual company’s data, but rather, sift through the entirety of its supply chain, for a fuller picture.

Ellipse can also help to integrate project, goal and target tracking, utilize machine-learning algorithms to develop scenario models and create a full view of scope 3 emissions to allow quick identification of hot spots and model supplier-specific mitigation scenarios.
