Appalachian Power, a unit of American Electric Power (AEP), recently named Scott Chambers as the director of distribution risk and project management, and Jim Fawcett as the director of customer services and business development.
Chambers most recently worked as a region support manager with Appalachian Power. He joined the company in 1987 as an electrical engineer. His other roles with the company have included customer services engineer, area superintendent, manager distribution systems, and manager of work scheduling.
Chambers received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and his master’s in engineering management from Marshall University Graduate College. He also completed AEP’s Strategic Leadership Program at The Ohio State University.
Fawcett has been with AEP since 1990 and has held positions in Customer Service, Business Development, Regulatory Affairs and Demand Side Management in West Virginia and Kentucky. He previously served as chairman of Leadership West Virginia and is a board member of Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia and Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe appointed Fawcett to the Governor’s Executive Committee on Energy Efficiency.
Fawcett earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business administration from Marshall University. Fawcett also completed AEP’s Strategic Leadership Program at The Ohio State University. He is a graduate of Leadership West Virginia and a Certified Energy Manager.
Appalachian Power serves 1 million customers in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee as AEP Appalachian Power. AEP is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, serving nearly 5.4 million customers in 11 states.
