The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Battelle have formed a partnership to work with industry and other stakeholders to accelerate the demonstration and deployment of new low-carbon clean energy technologies.

EPRI is a global leader in clean energy research and development, while Battelle has worked for decades with the DOE, managing national laboratories. The partnership will leverage real-world experience to ensure demonstration projects are appropriately designed and involve technology deployers early in the process to inform deployment decisions and implementation.

“The global clean energy transformation will require building on the technologies of today with the innovative research of tomorrow,” EPRI CEO Arshad Mansoor said. “This key partnership with Battelle and national laboratories will harness our collective strengths, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and ultimately lead to a successful clean energy transition.”

EPRI has collaborated with more than 450 companies in 45 countries, driving innovation to ensure the public has clean, safe, reliable, affordable, and equitable access to electricity across the globe.

“By coordinating closely to leverage complementary skill sets and networks of collaborators, EPRI, Battelle, and national laboratories can effectively work with industry to accelerate demonstration and deployment of new technologies, while remaining consistent with their core missions,” Mark Peters, Battelle’s executive vice president for National Laboratory Management and Operations, said. “We look forward to this partnership and the impact it will have on the world.”
