Entergy Mississippi will be providing power for the single largest capital investment in state history — a $10 billion planned investment by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

AWS’s planned investment in Mississippi will support long-term power reliability and affordability for all Entergy Mississippi customers, while bringing new jobs and economic development opportunities to the state.

“I’m tremendously proud of our teams for their years of efforts in helping to recruit the largest economic investment in Mississippi history,” Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO, Entergy Mississippi, said. “The impacts of this sizeable investment will reach across our service territory, creating support for economic development and clean, modern power generation investments. Most importantly, this will allow us to produce reliable power, with the most advanced technology available, while keeping rates affordable and further helping all of our customers.”

The AWS project will support power grid advancements and power generation investments across the state. Such a large customer like AWS will also help keep rates lower for all customers than they otherwise would be in the future.

“Just as Nissan did for the automotive industry, AWS will help cloud technology flourish in our state – making Mississippi a technology industry leader in the Southeast United States,” Fisackerly said. “We’re proud to be a partner in this historic investment in our communities and appreciate the fantastic collaboration with Governor Tate Reeves, the Mississippi Legislature, the Mississippi Public Service Commission, the Mississippi Public Utilities staff, Mississippi Development Authority, Madison County Economic Development Authority and others to bring this transformative project to the state.”

Entergy Mississippi currently serves several global companies that have invested billions in the Jackson region, including Amazon, Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., Nissan, Continental Tire, and others.

Entergy Mississippi provides electricity to approximately 461,000 customers in 45 counties in the state. It is a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation.
