Chicago-based Exelon recently announced that the current CEO and president of its subsidiary PECO, Mike Innocenzo, will take on a new position as executive vice president and COO at Exelon itself.

Innocenzo will oversee all utility operations for Exelon, as well as the CEOs of its various subsidiaries: BGE, ComEd, PECO and PHI. Also under his umbrella will be cyber and information security services, corporate physical security, IT, safety, supply, training and transmission strategy and compliance organizations.

At PECO, Innocenzo will be replaced by Dave Velazquez, currently Exelon’s executive vice president of utility operations and technology. PECO is Pennsylvania’s largest electric and natural gas delivery company, with nearly 1.7 million electric customers and more than 548,000 natural gas customers.

“As we focus on leading an equitable energy transformation for our customers and communities, making a positive impact begins with the talent and experience of our team,” Calvin Butler, Exelon president and CEO, said. “We are pleased to have Mike Innocenzo, who has spent his career delivering operational excellence at PECO, bring his expertise to overseeing operations across Exelon. Mike will build on the top-tier performance levels our customers have come to expect. Similarly, we have a high caliber, respected industry leader in Dave Velazquez, with experience leading utilities, to continue PECO’s advance toward best-in-class service. Both leaders are a testament to the depth of experience at Exelon.”

In addition, Exelon announced that its executive vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer, Amy Best, will retire in May after a 32-year stint with the company. She will be succeeded by Denise Galambos, the current senior vice president of customer operations at Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE).

All three executives will transition into their new roles beginning April 1.
