Siemens Smart Infrastructure recently announced that its showcase at this year’s Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) trade show on March 12-15 will focus on new building technologies like an energy efficient magnetic expansion valve and a heat pump automation system.

True to Mostra’s focus topic for 2024 ‘transform today, to create a sustainable tomorrow’ we will showcase innovative and sustainable technology that helps our customers to accelerate delivery against their sustainability targets.”
The valve, also known as MVL702, was designed specifically for refrigeration cycle processes in heat pumps and chillers, as an easily integrated tool to save on both development and testing costs. It could also increase these systems’ heat capacity by up to 21 percent compared to a stepper motor technology, while improving efficiency and annual energy saving potential up to 14 percent. The valve also reportedly closes automatically during power failures or in the event of cable disconnection, increasing its inherent safety.
Additionally, the company will use the global marketplace and event in Milan, Italy, to showcase its Climatix S400 controller for heat pump automation systems, as part of its digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator. The controller offers equipment automation for residential HVACR applications, like heat pumps and heat recovery ventilation. A modular product, it can be used in scalable heat pump applications and offers native cloud connectivity to guarantee quick, remote access.
The company will also showcase a new HVACR plug-and-play solution to lower heating and cooling costs in small and mid-sized buildings, chillers, heat pumps and turnkey solutions, among other things.
