Koch Pipeline named 2017 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently awarded Koch Pipeline Company, a Koch Industries company, the 2017 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award.

Koch Pipeline, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2015, received the award for its work in advancing energy management, participating in ENERGY STAR’s industrial network and building an energy network within its own operations. The company owns and/or operates pipeline systems in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Texas that transport crude oil, refined petroleum products, chemicals and natural gas liquids.

In 2016, Koch companies improved energy efficiency in its chemicals and paper businesses by approximately two percent. The company has saved over $270 million across all of its businesses since 2011, including approximately $34 million in 2016. In 2015 and 2016, Koch invested over $600 million in energy efficiency projects across its companies.

Koch companies also developed an energy manager network to convey best practices, provide training, provide information about new technologies and improve its businesses’ performance.

The company has received 1,200 safety and environmental awards since 2009 and has reduced its production-related waste, recycled a high amount of its waste and was named a top company for pollution prevention initiatives by the EPA.

The award will be presented on April 26 at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
