Hydropower industry presents lifetime achievement to PG&E’s David Moller

The National Hydropower Association (NHA) recently announced that David
Moller, a director of Power Generation at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), was presented with the Dr. Kenneth Henwood Award at Waterpower Week in Washington, D.C.

The award is NHA’s most prestigious honor and is given in recognition of lifetime achievement in the hydropower industry. A committee of Moller’s peers selected him to receive the award.

“As a pioneer, David’s contribution to the hydropower industry cannot be overstated,” Linda Church Ciocci, executive director of the National Hydropower Association, said. “In addition to being a trailblazer at the national and local level on licensing reform, he has been a strong advocate for environmental stewardship. On behalf of the hydropower industry, we would like to congratulate David for his tireless dedication to promote the value and growth of hydropower.”

In his role at PG&E, Moller manages nearly 4,000 megawatts. He has also served as president of NHA for two terms and an active member of NHA’s CEO Council.

Throughout his career, Moller has advanced licensing reform at the national and local levels. He led the first collaborative relicensing settlement agreement in California, one of the seven pioneering Integrated Licensing Process (ILP) relicensing proceedings nationwide and the first ever cooperative relicensing proceeding with another FERC licensee on the same reach of the same river.

Moller has also long advocated for environmental responsibility as a key aspect of project planning and development. He has twice received NHA’s Outstanding Stewards of America’s Waters for his environmental efforts.
