The board of directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) recently elected Vice President of Market Strategy and Policy for SunPower Corp. Tom Starrs as chair of the SEIA Board and SunLink Corp. President and CEO Michael Maulick as vice chair.

“The level of experience and passion these two men bring to their careers and to SEIA’s executive committee is going to help advance our organization and the industry as a whole,” Abigail Ross Hopper, SEIA’s president and CEO, said. “It’s an exciting chapter for the U.S. solar industry and on behalf of SEIA, we welcome their strong leadership and guidance.”

Starrs has served as the SEIA board vice chair since 2014. Prior to that, he served as a director. Starrs will succeed Nat Kreamer of Spruce Finance, whose term expired earlier this year, as board chair.

Starrs has worked at SunPower since 2009 and has over 20 years of experience in and around the solar power industry, including senior management positions with Avangrid Renewables, PPM Energy and Schott Solar.

Maulick has over 40 years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to his role at SunLink, he held numerous CEO positions at technology companies and worked in engineering and sales executive management at IBM.

He also served on various boards including as independent director for the IPO of Rackable Systems and a board member for XE Solar, a concentrator and tracking company.
