American Midstream announces binding open season for crude oil deliveries to Dakota Access Pipeline at Watford City
American Midstream Partners, LP (AMID) recently announced a binding open season for volume commitments from existing receipt points on AMID’s Bakken pipeline system to a newly constructed delivery point connecting into the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) in Watford City, North Dakota.
AMID plans to expand its current Bakken System, a FERC-regulated, crude oil transportation pipeline located in McKenzie County, North Dakota, to be able to accept 40,000 barrels per day (b/d) of crude oil from field receipt points and local lease tank batteries through its truck facility south of Watford City for delivery into DAPL. With recent additions and the new DAPL connection, AMID expects to be able to deliver an incremental 20,000 b/d to market.
The new connection into DAPL is project to enter service in August 2017. AMID also offers hydrogen sulfide treating in the Bakken System that allows customers to meet pipeline specifications for crude oil delivery.
AMID plans to acquire long-term volume commitments for crude oil transportation to the new constructed delivery point during the binding open season. The open season began on June 26 and end on July 17. Bids must be submitted to AMID by 5:00 PM CST on or before July 17.
