Nissan, Potomac Edison offer rebate for Maryland customers on Nissan LEAF all-electric car

Potomac Edison recently announced a new rebate for its customers in Maryland that could save them
$10,000 off the price of a 2017 all-electric Nissan LEAF.

To receive the savings, customers must bring their electric bill and a copy of the official program flyer to a participating Nissan dealership. The rebate offer is available from Nissan North America, Inc. until September 30 or while supplies last, for all three Nissan LEAF trim models.

“Electric vehicles are becoming more popular as people recognize the environmental and sustainability benefits they offer,” James A. Sears, Jr., vice president of Potomac Edison, said. “This rebate from Nissan is designed to help get even more of these environmentally friendly vehicles on the road.”

Depending on the model, the Nissan LEAF has a list price ranging from $30,000 to $36,000. The customer could also qualify for up to $7,500 in federal electric vehicle tax credits and a one-time Maryland excise tax credit, of up to $3,000.

“We’re dedicated to the mass-adoption of electric vehicles, or EVs, in the United States, and Potomac Edison’s program shows that it’s interested in supporting EVs as well,” Brian Maragno, director of EV marketing and sales strategy at Nissan North America, said. “Incentive programs like these help continue the positive momentum of EVs while providing a lower cost of entry for interested buyers.”
