New Jersey Board of Public Utilities honors clean energy participants
At the 2017 Clean Energy Conference and Awards Ceremony in New Jersey this week, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities paid tribute to participants in the state’s Clean Energy Program.
Over the previous 15 years, New Jersey has invested more than $3.1 billion into energy saving projects, reducing the state’s electric use by around 10 percent and increasing use of energy-efficient products and renewable sources. Therefore, in conjunction with the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Clean Energy Learning Center, the Board saw benefit in recognizing the accomplishments of program participants and allies.
The focus for the awards was saving and included focus on comprehensive design, maximum kWh saved, comprehensive method design, zero energy ready design and comfort partners project of the year. Contractors who completed 100 or more comprehensive Home Performance projects were also honored with an award known as the ENERGY STAR 2017 Century Club Award.
“This conference is one of the Learning Center’s core activities for calendar year 2017, and we are pleased to welcome stakeholders from across the state to NJIT to learn, network and exchange ideas that can keep New Jersey at the forefront of clean energy innovation nationwide,” Deane Evans, executive director of NJIT’s Center for Building Knowledge, said.
