Mississippi Public Service Commission’s Presley joins NARUC board of directors

Chairman of the Mississippi Public Service Commission (MPSC), Brandon Presley, recently joined the board of directors for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), per an announcement made by NARUC President John Betkoski III.

Presley had previously served as the vice chair of NARUC’s Natural Gas Access and Expansion task force and currently serves on its committees on Gas and International Relations.
“I am quite pleased to welcome Chairman Presley, as he will be a strong asset to the NARUC Board. His record of leadership and commitment to NARUC members is both impressive and substantive,” Betkoski said. “Moreover, he takes a thoughtful, reasoned approach to serving the public interest.”

With his appointment, Presley will serve a term lasting until October 2018, though at that time the NARUC executive committee will have the option to reappoint him. His appointment adds to a board that consists of a president, two vice presidents, each active past president, and 20 other active members pulled from state commissions.

Presley has long been a face among commissions. He has been working with the MPSC since 2007, served as president of the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, and was on the board of directors for the National Regulatory Research Institute. He is also currently a member of the advisory committee for the New Mexico State University Center for Public Utilities.
