The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) presented to Rocky Mountain Power on Monday at the Renewable Energy Markets 2017 conference in New York City the Green Power Leadership Award for its Subscriber Solar program.

The Green Power Leadership Award recognizes organizations for their role in promoting and increasing the use of clean, renewable energy.

The Subscriber Solar program began last year and enables customers to use solar energy without installing rooftop panels. More than 2,500 residential, commercial, and community customers have subscribed. A waitlist is open for when an additional plant is completed.

“Rocky Mountain Power is transitioning to more sustainable solutions for our customers and we have been working to make sure they have the option to use more renewable energy for the lowest cost,” Bill Comeau, customer solutions director at Rocky Mountain Power, said. “We are honored to be recognized for this effort and will continue to work to expand options for our customers.”

CRS presented Market Development Awards to 10 winners in four award categories at the event.
A Better City, Google Inc., Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Rocky Mountain Power, and WGL Energy received the Green Power Market Development award. Apple Inc. received the International Green Power Market Development award. Clif Bar & Company, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and RE-volv received the Leadership in Green Power Education award. Jan Pepper of Peninsula Clean Energy was recognized as the Green Power Leader of the Year.
