U.S appoints four NEMA members to its new US-Mexico Energy Business Council

Four National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) members were recently appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s U.S.-Mexico Energy Resource Business Council, a new advisory committee for the improvement of energy relations between the two countries.

“We are delighted to have four, top NEMA Members join energy industry representatives from both the United States and Mexico to discuss ways to strengthen the economic and technical ties between the two countries,” NEMA President Kevin J. Cosgriff said. “The participation of these experts will ensure deep and richly textured discussions as the group crafts mutually beneficial ideas for the energy sectors in both the U.S. and Mexico. It is a credit to the Department of Commerce that they recognized the importance of electrical manufacturers to any energy discussion.”

The NEMA members include Julian Alzate, the director of international operations at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.; Vernon Murray, the vice president and general manager for Mexico and Northern Latin America at Emerson Process Management; R. Craig Breese, the president of Honeywell Mexico of Honeywell International, Inc.; and Darryl Wilson, the chief commercial officer and vice president of GE Energy Connections.

All members, including six other council members from other organizations, will serve two-year-terms. Other members carry expertise from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy, the Mexican Ministry of Energy and the Mexican Ministry of Economy.
