Arizona Corporation Commission Commissioner Tobin to hold open house in Bullhead City

Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Commissioner Andy Tobin will travel to Bullhead City and Kingman, Arizona, on April 11 and 12 to meet with community members of Maricopa County and encourage community involvement.

Tobin’s travels a part of an eight month long tour to let community members know that their voices matter. The Rural Corp Comm Tour program began last month in Yuma. The initiative hopes to gain community support and involvement in some of the more rural areas and areas that are largely inactive with the ACC.

“I, along with my fellow commissioners, was able to hear from the residents of Mohave County last week at our Public Comment Meeting concerning UNS Electric’s proposed rate case,” Tobin said. “For many residents, that may have been their first exposure to the Commission. The ACC regulates electricity, water, natural gas, corporate filing, securities, pipelines, railroads and more. We need the people in urban and rural communities to be equally engaged and let their voices be heard.”

Tobin will hold an open house on April 11 at the Bullhead City Council Chambers at 1255 Marina Blvd. in Bullhead City from 5-7 p.m. Tobin will give a presentation, along with other community organizations, including EPCOR Water, Mohave Electric Cooperative and UNS Energy. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions and voice concerns.

The ACC will also hold its monthly open meeting at 10 a.m. on April 12. It will take place at the Mohave County Administration Building at 700 W Beale St. in Kingman. Residents are encouraged to attend to observe how the organization operates. Tobin will be in attendance virtually.
