UGI Corp. elects Gary Garcia treasurer
The UGI Corp. recently appointed G. Gary Garcia as elected treasurer, effective Sept. 6, due to his extensive experience in the industry.
Garcia previously served as treasurer at GenOn before its merger with NRG Energy. Following the merger, Garcia served as treasurer of the combined company.
“Gary is a highly experienced and well-rounded executive with over 25 years of finance experience in the energy industry,” UGI Chief Financial Officer Kirk R. Oliver said. “He has exemplified UGI’s culture of leadership, operational excellence, and integrity throughout his career. We look forward to Gary’s contributions to UGI and his support of our company’s long-term strategic goals.”
Prior to his roles with GenOn and NRG, Garcia served as treasurer of the Mirant Corporation. He also served as a senior fixed income utility analyst with the Machovia Corporation. Garcia started his career at Edison Mission Energy, a subsidiary of Edison International, where he spent 12 years.
UGI is a distributor and seller of energy products and services. It operates electric and natural gas utilities in Pennsylvania and distributes propane internationally and through parts of the Mid-Atlantic region.
