Hawkins named SERC’s general counsel

Holly Hawkins accepted the role of SERC Reliability Corporation’s general counsel on Monday.

Hawkins will be tasked with advising the corporation, developing initiatives and reviewing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) orders, among other duties.

Hawkins role as general counsel is effective Oct 17. Hawkins will oversee the SERC legal team and provide strategic advice and counsel to the president and CEO. Hawkins will also review and advise incoming FERC orders.

General Counsel,” SERC President and CEO Gary Taylor said. “Her extensive background with
NERC and the industry overall makes her a tremendous asset to us. We look forward to having Holly as an important member of the team.”

Hawkins previously served as associate general counsel with NERC. She earned her doctor of jurisprudence degree from The Catholic University of America – Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.

Hawkins is currently a member of the American Bar Association – Section on Environment, Energy and Resources; the Energy Bar Association; and the Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment.
