Rocky Mountain Power Subscriber Solar program is now sold out

Rocky Mountain Power customers recently fully reserved the 20-megawatt solar plant that will begin supplying power in January 2017.

The Subscriber Solar program gives consumers the options to use solar if they rent their property or do not have the ability to install solar on their own. The program first became commercially available in May, while residential customers began subscribing in June. Any remaining customers who still want to sign up will be placed on a waiting list.

“The more customers we have on the wait list for Subscriber Solar the quicker we will be able to build another solar plant,” said Kevin Hoopiiaina, Subscriber Solar program manager.

Residential customers can sign up for the waiting list and still use an online calculator to find out how much the program can save them. Commercial customers can request an analysis to see how the program could impact their bills.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rocky Mountain Power provides electric service to nearly 1.1 million customers in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.
