Entities tout LNG Gulf Coast deliveries
Bechtel and Cheniere Energy officials recently announced a collaboration that resulted in delivering the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Corpus Christi Liquefaction project in Texas.
Officials said Bechtel, which specializes in project management, engineering, procurement, and construction, delivered a production train at the Corpus Christi project which served as the latest of six trains Bechtel provided with Cheniere at two Gulf Coast sites.
The Sabine Pass Liquefaction project in Louisiana produced the first LNG from that site’s fifth train last week.
“These achievements further highlight the value this ongoing successful partnership with Cheniere brings for both of us,” Alasdair Cathcart, president of Bechtel Oil, Gas, and Chemicals, said. “We are proud to have contributed to Cheniere’s success by collaboratively delivering these LNG trains ahead of schedule and with cost certainty through our lump sum approach.”
Within the last three years, Bechtel has delivered 14 large-scale LNG production trains for customers around the world, including eight trains in Australia. The facilities are now supplying about 61 million tons of LNG each year to global energy markets or enough energy to power more than 85 million homes.
