Pennsylvania clean, renewable energy projects to receive $12M in state funding

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf recently announced the approval of $12 million in funding for 11 clean and renewable energy projects across Pennsylvania.

“One of Pennsylvania’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our energy portfolio,” Wolf said. “These projects will help lower energy consumption and expand alternative energy sources like solar and hydro – not just helping to lower costs, but reducing our carbon footprint as well.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), approved the projects through the Alternative and Clean Energy Program (ACE).

The projects will support the construction of energy-efficient school buildings, the construction of a hydro facility and the purchase and installation of two combined heat and power systems, a biomass processing system, a biogas purification system, and a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station.

The projects are located in Allegheny, Chester, Columbia, Crawford, Lancaster, Montgomery, Northampton, Northumberland, and Philadelphia counties.
