Edelman tabbed for Safari Energy executive post

Safari Energy has selected Kirk Edelman as the company’s Chief Development Officer, noting he will join the senior leadership team in guiding strategy.

Edelman is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Financial Services, in addition to serving as CEO of the Global Energy Finance business.

“Kirk is highly entrepreneurial and has an incredibly deep background in developing and financing just about every type of energy project all over the globe,” Matt Rudey, CEO, Safari Energy, said. “His extensive experience will be instrumental in helping Safari Energy continue to deliver on our growth strategy.”

Edelman’s area of responsibility will include leading the Project Finance, Project Development, and Asset Management teams as a means of continually pursuing Safari Energy’s growth strategy.

“Safari Energy has pulled together an incredibly high-caliber and interdisciplinary team that has driven the success of the company over the past decade,” Edelman said. “I look forward to guiding this talent pool to build on success and seek to achieve even greater results for our clients.”

Edelman is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, as well as Bucknell University while also serving on the boards of the Cornell University’s Program in Infrastructure Policy, the German American Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Martin Tuckman School of Management.
