Alejandro de Hoz has been appointed Avangrid Renewables, LLC President & CEO, succeeding Laura Beane, who officials said has decided to leave the company.

“Avangrid Renewables plays a key role in achieving our ambition to be a top tier clean energy company and in fulfilling our corporate purpose to deliver a clean energy model that promotes healthier, more sustainable communities,” AVANGRID CEO James P. Torgerson said. “We have a growing renewables business with strong expertise in core areas of onshore wind and solar, and we continue to develop our expertise and leadership in the nascent offshore business in the U.S.”

Torgerson said with de Hoz’s broad renewables experience in both onshore and offshore wind, the appointment serves as a great fit to lead Avangrid Renewables into its next phase of growth.

Prior to his role as vice president of Offshore Wind at Avangrid Renewables, de Hoz was Offshore Business Performance director for Iberdrola, responsible for preparing the offshore wind pipeline for competitive auction processes in the UK and Germany.

He held positions within the Iberdrola group developing the onshore wind business internationally in France, Mexico, and Brazil.

Avangrid Renewables is the nation’s leading renewable energy company, officials said, owning and operating a capacity portfolio of renewable energy generation facilities primarily using wind power.
