Ameren Missouri named top performer for large Midwest utilities in customer satisfaction among business electric service customers this week for the second year in a row.

Ameren Missouri improved by 58 points over last year’s ranking in the J.D. Power study.

“Ameren Missouri has persistently focused on improving the overall experience for our business customers while continuing to provide safe, affordable and dependable service for all customers,” Michael Moehn, president of Ameren Missouri, said. “I want to thank our customers for recognizing our commitment to them through the results of this study.”

Ameren Missouri also placed in the top quartile in the United States in 2016 for the reliability measure SAIFI, which measures how often the average customers experienced a long-term outage.

The study, now in its 12th year, is based on 200,000 online interviews with business customers of 87 targeted electric utilities that have over 40,000 business customer each. The customers must spend at least $200 a month on electricity. Overall satisfaction is examined according to six factors. The factors are, in order of importance, power quality and reliability, corporate citizenship, price, billing and payment, communications and customer service.

The J.D. Power 2016 Calendar-Year Electric Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study found that, across the entire study, satisfaction increased for the fourth year in a row to a record high.
