Harris CapRock offers new cyber security solution to oil and gas companies

Harris CapRock Communications recently introduced a new product called SafePass Pro that will provide protection against cyber attacks on gas and oil IT systems for utilities, cruise ships, maritime facilities and commercial clients.

Harris CapRock Communications is a subsidiary of the Harris Corporation, and the new SafePass Pro relies on Harris’ established R&D to offer improved IT security to utilities and other facilities at risk of energy cyber attacks. The system provides a service hub that promises to minimize spyware and malware, improve centralized network control, enforce and uphold acceptable use and security policies (AUP), and overall minimize cybersecurity risks by eliminating network vulnerabilities. For utilities, this could provide a safeguard against a cyber attack on the grid.

“Security breaches and emerging threats to corporate networks are impacting the oil and gas market with greater cost and frequency as offshore operations rely more heavily on always-on communications networks,” Harris CapRock President Tracey Haslam said. “SafePass Pro offers an unparalleled approach to cyber protection with the added ability of working with Harris cyber security experts committed to securing critical government networks.”

SafePass Pro includes 24/7 system monitoring and support, the Alter Logic threat monitoring service, a vulnerability scanner, network intrusion monitoring and protection, and firewall security. Harris added that the SafePass Pro can pinpoint system vulnerabilities and respond with the best solution to minimize cyber risks in the increasingly digital world.
