The Board of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) elected Tristan Grimbert, president and
CEO of EDF Renewable Energy, its chair this week, also filling a number of other positions with the
organization.

Grimbert will succeed Chris Brown, president of Vestas Americas, as chair.

President and CEO of TPI Composites Steve Lockard was chosen as chair-elect. Ray Wood, managing director – head of global power & renewables, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, was elected Treasurer,
and Blattner Energy, Inc. Vice President Doug Fredrickson was chosen as secretary.

Newly elected to the Board are Carole Barbeau, president of energy advisory for region Americas at DNV GL, Buzz Miller, president and CEO of Southern Power and Susan Nickey, managing director at Hannon Armstrong. Brian Janous, director of energy strategy at Microsoft and Rob Threlkeld, global manager of renewable energy at General Motors were added as one-year special advisors.

Grimbert spoke at the WINDPOWER 2017 Welcome and Opening General Session in Anaheim, California this week, where thousands of wind energy industry developers, manufacturers, and suppliers will gather
for technology exhibitions, panels and speakers.

“As we return to California, birthplace of utility-scale wind power, we’re bringing a brand new attitude,” Tom Kiernan, CEO of AWEA, said. “Big brand names are stampeding to buy wind to supply their stores
and factories. With a stable national policy in place, and critical power line infrastructure on the way, we’re delivering on our promises to keep cutting costs. Wind is on track to supply 10 percent of U.S. electricity by the end of the decade.”
